Every year, Nucor Steel, whose operation in West Seattle is both a large employer and a traditionally very involved community supporter, rallies their employees to donate food and cash and matches their cash donations with $2 for every dollar donated to the West Seattle Food Bank. This year they topped $22,000.

It's also worth noting that as of March 1st, the West Seattle Food Bank and West Seattle Helpline merged into one stronger organization was completed. Joined together as one organization, their comprehensive services include:

Baby & Child Corner
Community Services

In a letter sent to the Food bank, GM Matt Lyons offered the details on what they did this year:
Employees of Nucor Steel Seattle, Inc. collected food and cash donations over the past month. The food donated by employees totaled 4,380 Ibs. and employees contributed $4,083.00 in cash/check. Nucor Steel Seattle is contributing $18,357.00 in cash as well.
The breakdown is as follows:
Food donation from employees: 4,3801bs.
Cash/check donations from employees: $ 4,083.00
Nucor Match at $2 per total employee donation: $18,357.00
Total amount enclosed: $ 22,440.00
